Wow - I hope someone out there is still watching this thread. I finally obtained a 95 F series cluster for a transplant into my 95 van. The new cluster does have enough wire on the back so I can identify colors. I don't have the old cluster out yet (still winter here), but am I right in thinking I can wire this just by matching colors between the 2 clusters (except for having to run a tach signal)? I don't have a factory wiring diagram, but it sounds like if this is true that I can get by without one. Right? Wrong? Also I see an exposed resistor close to the rear of the oil pressure gauge. Is this the infamous resister that causes the gauge to act like an idiot light? I remember seeing a thread about cutting or jumping this resistor and replacing the sender to make the gauge actually move. Thanks in advance to anyone's help!!
Yes that is the infamous resister that causes the gauge to act like an idiot light.
If you need the 1995 E & F cluster diagrams just give me an email and I will try to help you out.
email address at bottom of post.
I have a 93 E and read that the cluster's second character in the part number denotes the year of the cluster. True? Mine is a 3. I've done this type of swap fixing things on the cluster that didn't work right before, (98 Expl, 2000 cluster, 99 Miata, 2001 cluster), so I pretty good at it without using any schematics. Let's see how this goes.

The first letter is the decade and the second character is the year of the drawing. The same drawing number may be used for a number of years. The Ford part number is not on the part however.
But most of the time it is the first year that part was used but a 93 number could be in a 1994 or even a 1999.
As far as the cluster goes only the 1992 and 1993 should have the same drawing number. The 1994 and 1995 are the same also but different from the 1993.
The the connectors do not inter change, right? How do you get the milage to follow with the replacement? Or can you take the fixture apart and replace it? Is there an internal battery that will store the milage?
Sorry for the 100 questions, but this topic is interesting!

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o> </o> <o> </o> Awesome write up!!! Kudos’s to you!!<o></o> <o></o> I have a 95 150 with a 5 speed. It did not come with a factor tach, which amazed me.
Do you know if this will also fix my Speedo needle wiggle? Probably not because the Speedo is being changed over with the odometer.<o></o> <o></o>
Now I have to do the junk yard search. Thanks<o></o> <o></o>
