My 05 EB has the color keyed gill. And IMO the 6.0 is a winner.

And a far superior engine when it comes to power and performance...

If you plan on keeping the truck mostly stock, a 4 inch exhaust will keep it more than happy and give you some more power to work with. If you're thinking about programming, ARP studs and an EGR delete are in your future.

A 6.0 delivers plenty of power and fuel economy stock, however due to Flashes from Ford, a mild tune or FICM tuning may be required to maximize power and fuel economy safely.

Here's Edmunds writeup, Ford Excursion SUV Review - Edmunds.com

I had read in a truck magazine when the engine went to 6.0 the frame rails were narrower and thus with the change to coil suspension the turning radius increased. I don't have it in front of me and I searched a bit. So take it for what it's worth, I'm sure the numbers are on this site. It may have only been a 4x2 and 4x4 numbers difference though.

I must admit mine is blessed w/BANKS,4"turbo-back,trans-command,compresser-wheel,module. She will move. I can get 16mpg on the highway and would yank 10k easily. (34' airstream LTD 3-axle 9k was behind it for thousands of miles @10-12mpg).

So with all Banks Stuff you can easily get 16mpg on the freeway...?

Don't mean to bust your bubble, but most of us 7.3 owners get that bone stock driving around town with very little freeway. A DP-Tuner flip chip is much better alternative to Banks and will net you more mpg overall, especially when you're not towing. With my current setup, I average no less than 18mpg no matter what, but I also spend alot of time on the freeway. (70/30)

I'm using and SCT programmer right now, but I'm determined to get myself a DP-Tuner chip for Christmas...

Most 7.3 owners sing the praises of Jody and Diane everytime they drive and soon I will too...join the club, you won't regret it.
