Child proof power door locks

Hello all,

I've searched on this topic and came up empty. I have a 2003 4x4 f150 Scab 5.4 with power locks. Is there a way to child proof the passenger door lock?

there are child safety locks that only allows the passenger doors to be open from the outside only if you are worried about them opening the door while you are driving. i've never heard of child safety door locks.

i beliee you can program the truck to lock all the doors when the truck gets above, maybe 10 MPH. Look in the drivers owners manual for description.

And then set them out on the curb.

You might not want to drive too far off before you give them a second chance.....

They do that but can also be unlocked while underway or before I want them to get out.

I'm sure a switch could be put in so the power is shut off to the rear door locks, sounds like a power window lock except for your door locks.

You do realize that you can still open the front passenger door (I assume this is the door we are talking about and not a back seat door) with the doors locked. All you have to do is pull the handle and it will push up the lock and open.
So - yes you could probably add a switch somewhere and wire it up or you could just unplug the power door lock switch on the passenger door.
However, if you pull the handle - the door will unlock and open anyway. Try it.

At least this is how it works on my 2002 Supercrew
