Unhappy Child locks and passenger window??

I am having a problem with the child lock engaging on its own as well as intermittent operation of the power window on the same passenger side back door. Has anyone else experienced problems such as this? Please help..........

Child locks and passenger window??

Child lock shouldn't engage on it's own. There is a lever in the door jamb that will either engage the child lock or disengage it. As far as the window, next time it quits, pull the door panel off and check for voltage at the motor with the switch pressed to the down position. If there is voltage, I would say it's a bad motor. You can also try to remove the motor and see if it works out of the door. If it does, check your traks for bent peices or obstructions. Reinstall motor and recheck operation. Hope this helps!

The child door lock problem is a common condition. Do a search on this forum for more info. The power window situation may or may not be related. It sounds more like an electrical connection problem within the door panel.

Child locks and passenger window??

I know there were previous posts on this happening but what I did w/my '98 EB was to roll up a piece of carpet padding and stuff it into the hole so the child lock could not move out if position. Crude, but it works.
As far as the window going down on it's own I would be guessing but I have inadvertantly hit the wrong switch and not known until I heard the wind noise.
Hope this helps
