Well it looks like on Monday I'll be tackling the fuel pump with a friend of mine. To be prepared, I'd like to have six new bed bolts on hand in case all six need to be cut off. What size, length, and rating should I get?
I just went to my Ford dealers parts department and ask for bed bolts for my 95 and they had them. You will not find them any where else as they are a special bolt. Kind of a flat neck (they are not square). I have not put them in yet but it is raining right now and they are in the center console of my 95. If you want the thread size and the length and a photo I can get it later when it stops raining.
I called Autozone to get a price quote on the fuel pump and sender, which they said would be $189.99 (much cheaper than Advance), and they asked me if it was a two tube or a three tube, which I do not know the answer to. Does anyone know if my rear steel tank on a 1996 F-250 is two or three tubes?
FWIW my '92 F350 w/351W has a 2 tube FDM. I replaced the rear tank a few months ago. I dropped the tank using short tie down straps as "mini wenches". Worked like a charm.
