Purchased used 31 row trans cooler to replace the orig. in my 2000 PSD. Can anyone give me any directions, helpful hints, or moral support that have gone there before? As always appreciate the help.
Thanks. Good link. I didn't realize there would be as much plumbing involved and maybe it will make more sense when I put an eye to it. I thought it would be a matter of unhooking the orig., replacing it with the larger and reattaching the orig. lines, with adapters. Too easy right?

when i did mine that was all there was to it. not real hard at all. the only plumbing was to adapt for 3/8'' to 1/2'' IIRC. you will figure it out once you see it. If not i am sure somebody will be here to answer any questons.
Thanks Shark. I wonder why the six foot of trans. line others are installing is ness. unless there wasn't any lines for a cooler to the front prior. I'll have to look.

You will see.... You have to run it back to the left side of the engine. You may not need a 90 degree but still have to convert the line..
I've had the 6.0 cooler for a couple of years now. It mounts to the exact same locations as the stocker. Reworked my lines and such this spring (2 years after running the 6.0 cooler). I blew the a/c condensor fins out with compressed air when it was out of the way. Also made sure the trans cooler was blew out. Did away with approx. 4 feet of hose by going to the straight fittings and going around the outside of the core support. I noticed a 30 to 40 degree drop in temps after doing this. Here's some pics of mine:
Mounted originally
No more 90's and went around the bottom of the core support.
The supply line on the driver's side from the radiator to the cooler. Did the same thing as Joe. No the pitman arm is nowhere close to making contact. Just looks that way in the pic. Only a few inches of 3/8" used between the union and the hardline.
Return line from the cooler to the hard return line. Only about 4" of 3/8" line between union and hardline.
Thanks Strokersace. Nice pics. too. Looks like the right recipe to me. I may try finding the pecs 12/-3/8 for smoother transition and one less connection to leak. Appreciate the help.
