Yes.

However I have found that most people are ingrained with Revelation being "The End Time". What I have read will either change you or make you stronger in your current faith.

Does the word "Dispensationalism" mean any thing to you?

You mention the 1000 years of peace. Any number with 000 added to it means more than just a thousand.

The left behind series is kinda interesting, and if it gets people to learn about their faith it might be okay......But this rapture bussiness is nothing but nonsense- there will be no such thing ! It is strictly fantasy. It might sell alot of books but it is not found in scripure. When one reads revelation, you could make a good case for the idea that we are in it now. I don't see anywhere that believers don't have to be here during the period of tribulation, whenever that might be. As to the Pope being the AntiChrist....well, maybe. As a supposed christian church, the roman catholic church has done more damage to society than any other I can think of. They are the ones responsible for changing most worship from the 7th day to the 1st. "priests" forgiving sins, worshipping Mary, Indulgences, the inquisition, celibacy for preachers, and telling believers not to study scripture- because the might not understand it ! I think the roman church has deliberatly tried to keep most worshippers misinformed. They are only in it for the $$$$$. DF

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 30-Oct-02 AT 01:23 AM (EST)]im going to say one thing. i may be wrong but i stand for what i believe in, bottom line is if there is a God (which there is (PERIOD)) if i see some of yall in heaven when i die ill send myself to hell. or i could put it another way ill see you in hell. and i pray that people with the weak faith find the light. and whos business is it to go around stomping on other people faith just because they dont have any? sounds like something EVIL to me. i may sound like a nun from 300 years ago but im just getting to the point. we should all be ashamed of ourselves, think of the innocent people who had to read this garbage? the people who got church every sunday? its a shame that this would ever have to come up.

p.s. dinosaur fan i am roman catholic and i took your post very offensive, you know nothing about nothing, you have lots of stars and i still have respect for you but not a good first impression. you seem prejudice to me, im a part of the catholic church, i spread the catholic faith, does that mean im a bad person? im not mad im just dissapointed and sad. there is hope, but first comes faith.

SHartman, sorry if you understood my comments as a challenge to what you said. That wasn't my intention. I was only trying to present for the original poster the Arminian position as opposed to the Calvinistic point of view because he asked for clarification on the two.

You may have your thoughts on the catholic church, that is fine, but please do not try to pass of what you have heard from other people that have obviously never been in a catholic church as fact. Yes we believe in celibacy for preachers but there is a reason, and scince when has the catholic church told believers not to study scripture? I was never told this and have been catholic all my life.

And worshipping Mary, where did this one ever even get started. Havw you ever asked someone else to pray for you, or do others in your religion do this? its the same concept with mary, what better person to ask to pray for you then the mother of Jesus? I can think of none other myself. Never has any catholic worshiped Mary. Please if you are going to try and tell others about a faith then go learn about it first.

Also the Spanish Inqusition was Called that for a reason, there was A papal enqusition at the same time, and the two were related which is why the catholic church is often blamed for the Spanish inqusition, however the horrible acts that most people think of are the result of the greediness of Queen Isabela and King Ferdinand, who were the Rulers of Spain at the time.

Pity me not. Don't need it don't want it. (besides that line sounded really condescending) My point in asking the question is that this whole topic is starting the same as the previous post. Now there are two separate posts that will probably diverge in subject. If they don't however there are now 2 places to track when it could have just as well been 1. My question was not 'do we need to keep talking about this' It was more 'does there really need to be two threads on an identical topic?'

You've said this a couple of times before. I'm confused though. How is christianity NOT a religion?

I stated before why I started another thread. I was afraid that with 5 whole pages on the subject I was afraid that a person who just may have the answers I seek may not make it through all 5 pages of posts to reach mine. I meant nothing to sound condescending, and even though I have never met you, I do still care enough to wonder what will happen to you after this physical life comes to a close. The way I see it, I look eagerly forward to meeting each and every person, that makes it to heaven, who shared the interest in these old folds, and has offered help and guidance through this wonderful site, wether(sp?) it be spiritual, or help with my old trucks. Again though, my apologies if you took my comments the wrong way, as I feel that upon dicovering this website, I made a lot of new friends.

By the way, I also do not see Christianity as being a religion. I see it as more of a characterization of several religions, although not all. I don't really know enough about the other religions to say which ones could be considered as such, but if said religions teach from the King James version of the bible, I'd say their not too far off the Christianity idea. My $.02. See ya fellas, Taking my 3 year old to her Halloween party.

"

2 Thessalonians 2
3Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness[1] is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God.
5Don't you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things? 6And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. 7For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. 8And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. 9The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, 10and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.

Ok,
1. The Pope has never proclaimed himself to be God. vs4
2. He is not lawless, in fact he has been working for world peace ever since he became pope. vs7
3. There have been many popes since this passage was written. So then does the new person BECOME the anti-christ after being installed as pope?

Reading this I would choose historical figures such as Lennin, Mao, Castro, and Nero, But not the Pope.

From what I've heard...It's really hot, so hot you can't escape it. And you have to work non-stop.

Sounds comparable to a construction worker in Texas in August. That's probably the closest we mortals can get to it.

Edit: Oh yeah, From Denver you take Highway 287 South to Raton pass then East through Dalhart, Dumas, Amarillo and on to Dallas!!! :P

So is hell expanding or shrinking according to Boyles law?
(Heat expands and cold contracts) Meaning: are more souls going to hell adding to the fires, and thereby making it expand, or are more souls going to heaven, leaving it less stoked, and thereby making it shrink?

Please help me with this because if more souls are going to hell like I have read on some of these posts, then I want to get out of the way when all hell breaks loose!

But then again if hell is shrinking because everyone is repenting and seeing the light, thereby going into heaven, then I going back to college to find the woman who said she would screw me when all hell freezes over!

Either way I gotta pack my bags man.......see ya's.
