Preloaded SCT Tunes

Hi everyone,
I have had my SCT Livewire for about 4 months now and absolutely love it.

I have one question that SCT was unable to answer.

The preloaded tunes are as follows:
Street
Performance
Towing 50hp
Towing 65hp
Trans only

Under what applications would each of these tunes be used? I know they're somewhat self explanatory, but I'm sure there's more than just guessing...

I would also like to know what the other options control, but no where in the literature does it go through and explain what each function does.

Thanks for the help!
William

Street - general driving
Performance - aggressive driving
Towing 50hp - The next two are kind of debateable. You are recomended to tow stock so I'm guessing the 65hp tune would be for lighter loads (under 10k pounds)
Towing 65hp - ^
Trans only - Might be a towing tune or a mileage tune, no idea off hand. I would say mileage though

Most people agree that you should never tow with a tune unless its under 10k pounds. Is that what you are looking for?

Yes that's more or less what I was looking for. I was looking for definite or "cutoff" points for towing. But, I rarely pull more than 8k #. When I do, I switch to the towing 50HP tune.

Thanks again and Hello from KC as well!

You would be fine pulling 8k with the street tune and would probably yield the highest mpg as long as you can keep your foot out of it. Might give it a whirl for a week or two.

Just moved to Colorado actually, but I still have family in Overland Park.

Where do you live?

I use the 65hp "Tow Tune" to haul a loaded 8,000-8,500lb racecar trailer

I use the Performance tune for everything else...and I LIKE IT!!

I have played with making the shifts later (via increasing the MPH per shift) and only see a benefit on 1-2, 2-3 gears...if you increase the shift on 3-4, or maybe it's 4-5th it gets weird and short-shifts...I have yet to play with that more as I'm experiencing injector/HPOP issues...but plan to get to the bottom of what's ideal in the next few months.

SCT Performance tuned.

Hey guys, new here. Just got my 6.0 with 230k miles on it. I've put new heads, head gaskets, arp head studs, Bulletproof Diesel EGR un-delete Kit and a Bulletproof Diesel Remote Air / Oil Cooler. I'm Running a 4" turbo back exhaust w/ a cat (soon to be straight piped) and an ARE Dry element air intake system. I have the SCT Livewire TS on my truck and have been doing reviews on each of the three pre loaded tunes on my Youtube Channel, if you wanna check them out... I'll post the link below. So far I've done the Install and Street, then the performance tune and up next I'm doing the tow tune.

After that I'm probably going to be getting some custom tunes to load into my tuner, I'll let you all know what I think of those. From what I've heard and read, they are the way to go.
