I have a 2004 6.0,i had an edge tow tune on it and am now switched to and sct.I'm running the 65hp canned tune. The sct tune just doesnt feel as strong as the edge.Does the edge tuning leave something on the ecm that blocks other tunes to make them feel not as strong. Thanks for your time
No, the entire memory is programmed so there's nothing left behind.
Was the Edge tow tune transmission only? Just because power is added doesn't mean it's done in the same way or places, plus the transmission tuning could be different. Maybe you just don't like how it shifts into a different part of the powerband now, combined with the tune being setup differently versus the old program. Try swapping in one of the other canned tunes maybe, or drive it differently than you normally would to see if it's better/worse in a different situation. If you don't like it, then you don't like it, no harm or foul, just look for something you do like.
I bought the sct to compare to the edge, everyone tells you sct is the best so i figured i would try it out.The sct shifts great and has alot more transmission capabilities,i just prefer the edge tune i guess.I was using there heavy tow tune dont know how much power it is but it makes the sct 65hp feel like stock.
The Edge could be more aggressive with the shift pressures, that will change the feel significantly with or without added power. SCT is recommended because there are several aftermarket tuners that support that box, Edge is really canned only (except for maybe PHP tuning). If you don't like the canned tunes there are many more options, but they cost.
What Edge box? The Juice with Attitude is general considered to be a no-go because of SOTF damaging the trans, but the Evo series is comparable to canned SCT and Bully Dog tunes.
Its the evo ht2.I have about 20,000 miles on this tune and the trans still feels good no slipping.I know custom tunes are supposed to be alot better, its a work truck and the canned tunes do fine for me.Maybe ill try a custom tune and see if it wakes it up anymore. Thanks for the response i really appreciated it.
