Hi all, I have a VIN that needs decoding for a 1970 F100 if you don't mind. I know it is a I6, don't know if thats a 240 or 300, and it is a 3-on-the-tree, but thats about it.
yeah but the MARTI report costs more than the distrib. points im going to have to fix.
does the 240 have the same rap as reliable as the 300 though?
Have you seen wickedinhere's post on his truck? Check here. He has totally redone or at least slight rebuild of his 240 and it looks and according to him is very strong. Check it out.
LMC Truck catalog has VIN # info: F10ACK23363 F10=F100 2WD A is the engine code which according to LMC yours is 6Cyl 240 1V carb C should be the assembly plant (Ontario) K23363 is the consecutive unit number. This is also in my original '68 shop manual. It should be in others. Hope this helps.
