68 coming home tomorrow
I have been looking for a while and finally found a nice project truck. Lord knows i have looked at a bunch of rust buckets over the past few months
and finally got a good one. Its a 68 flareside SWB -240 six, three on the tree the guy took it apart and
detailed the frame and painted it and did a real good job he just never put it all back together. The only problem is he painted it orange but thats an easy problem to fix. I plan on notching the rear frame and doing a 4-link with airbags the front will get lowered i beams and airbags. The paint job will be a flat silver and probably put new carpet and seat cover the rest is in great shape. I will post some pics tomorrow after i get her home.

The guy who had the truck is suppose to be a paint and body guy but he needs more practice. The truck had a few waves in the body work so it looks like i will be da sanding the whole truck. I will get started on the rear suspension work as soon as all these hurricanes pass. Here are the pics the motor compartment looks pretty good just dusty.

I started taking the bed apart today and it was pretty easy the front and rear bed supports are rusted pretty bad so they will be replaced. The center ones are missing probably rusted off lol. The guy i bought the truck from is real bad at paint and body
the paint is peeling everwhere but thats a good thing cause i hate this orange. My parts for the rear suspension should be here early next week. I decided against a 4-link i am gonna keep the leafs and do a flip kit with shackles and hangers and remove some of the leafs. I am looking at getting 10-11inches of drop in the rear with the c notch. The front should be around a 7 inch drop with i-beams and air bags. I took some pics, i really dont like the rolled edges on the bed i was thinking of cutting them off but i dont know what it would look like any suggestion?

If,as you said the previous owner is an auto body person, but does auto body poorly, please tell us where your located! If any of us need body work,we probably dont want to use this guy! Itsa nice looking truck,i looked recently at a 71 F250 4x4 in a similar color, i like orange on these old trucks, and the flaresides are uncommon enough to draw attention!
