Hopefully in the next year I'll know how they wheel.

Not run so good on 45* + angles.

they do on propane

technocarb makes a setup that can support up to 800 horsepower. it's not cheap, but it is awesome.

Nope not going to happen. Seth explained it well on pirate about how never get same HP out of gas vs propane.

sofa king what, if you build with propane in mind, bump the compression to the moon, and kick the timing up a bunch it will scream, will you really notice a 5% loss with 700+hp????

the trade off is a minute loss in power v.s. a gas engine of a similar build, but take into consideration that the pressurized propane is a closer comparison to a more efficient fuel injected motor, so that cancels out the trade off due to carbs being less efficient than injection or propane.

I WIN THIS ROUND

U'll like it If the front tires stick past the grill, and it can drive laying on its side.

I love all the sideline "computer builds" that float around the interwebz. Until someone builds a propane motor that can run with a stroked out BBF in a side by side real world deal, I will continue to call out and wave the BS flag! Nothing makes me lol more than people that have only "web research" to go off of an not real world experience. No offense intended towards Dan for suggesting, it just gets old to read on this and all the other forums.

Ok, done with my tired Monday rant...

the dovetailing killed my love of yer truck, i understand form over function for a wheeler, but i hate the looks of doved fronts.

if i ever get the bronco done(i hate waiting on moniez) i'll wheel it how i planned to build it, and start researching link setups for down the road because i'd like to move the front axle forward so the tires stick just past the bumper a few inches for approach angles, probably leave the rear close to where it's at.

Karl, if i ever do build a bbf chances are it won't be a race motor like you, kris, or seth have, but i have always wanted a propane rig. granted, until i do it, it is just webwheeling hearsay from me. I forget the guys name, but he was an old time who was famous for building turbo propane race engines for wheelers, i'll try to find some links. i used to read up on it a long time ago, just want to try something a little different. but you are right, most of the propane guys are running mild motors or 4 and 6 bangers. I'd like to have a very healthy bbf on propane just to try it out.

I've seen a respectable 460 Ford on Propane in person, but boy, I don't know if I could get use to that smell.

It was in "Fordzilla" saw it out at Dresser WI.

I think I'll try out a diesel to see how I like it.
