Brian that was about 2 yrs ago now. The ones we use are set up as med evacs as their primary mission, with search and rescue, and police work as a secondary mission. Our choppers are also set up for airbourne rescue. They are also used to move the go teams from Shock Trauma if needed.
those choppers are impressive. the LifeStar choppers are strictly med-evacs, they dont do search and rescues or police work. Trooper 1 (the CSP bird) is the only 1 that does S&R and police work.
thought so. I have the same in the center of my grille, then 2 strobing taillights (well, 1 lights burnt out, so it only flashes on 1 side lol. gotta ge that fixed....)
Ours are funded alot by the DMV. a portion of the money the DMV brings in from vehicle registrations goes to support the med evac programs. The gov. that started the program was getting a ride in one and they recieved a call for a patient and they landed in a field radioed the governors location so his detail could pick him up and took off after kicking him out.
