i bought it in 04 so not very old. the last one shorted out. we have a electric water heater. 220vac. me and erin did DIY the new 1. in jan of 04. its been workin' fine up until a few days ago. never messed with it either.

I had a POS GE gas direct vent water heater when we did the construction on the house 5 years ago, went through 2 vent motors in 4 1/2 years. I called the service company that did the GE service for them, which were outstanding in the service end, and told them to remove the POS and put in a commercial 75 Gallon AO Smith. Best decision I ever made....
