Well something in my brake booster / power steering was screaming the other day causing a teriable vibration in brake pedal and steering wheel. If i turned the truck off and let sit for 10 min it go away for ahile then start back up. I checked fluid levels they good. I got some lucas power steering additive, sucked out some regular fluid from tank and added the lucas. Im knocking on wood now but the problem is gone for now? Im on my second tank of Seafoam in the gas, I have been alternating with the lucas additive, The other night i sprayed the intake side down with the areasol seafoam let sit and ran the truck the whole next day hard. With alot of burn off at times the truck really seems to be coming around. I know these additives cant fix everything but I do beleave they help for certain things.
go ahead and dump any fuel additive into the intake of a diesel running or not,BUT FIRST do a search on runaway diesel engines. they will inhappily run on fuel dumped into the intake, because you can't control the fueling the engine will run very fast, several thousand rpm more than redline, the timing during the duration will be very advanced, resulting in much diesel cackle. if your not lucky it will really clean things out, starting with your wallet to the tune of a new installed engine. if you're lucky it will only prematurely age it. my guess is that the bg kit works because they are able to carefully meter the flow of chemical
As an FYI most terminals add additives to fuel, both gasoline and diesel on their way to the station. For example with diesel, have seen many big rigs fill up down south and drive up north and freeze up because the southern states did not use antigel additives in the fuel like what is used up north in the winter. Also the best fuel stations are listed as top tier and are much better than the other stations. This pertains mostly to gasoline though.

They work when properly used, but under no circumstances should anything be sprayed/dumped into the intake of a diesel engine. Back in the 80s I saw a 6.2 Chevy come apart during a oil change because some oil found its way to the intake via a faulty CDR valve.
