Anyone know the factory radio wiring colors or know where I can find a diagram?

Thanks....you have been a world of help!

Is this for a single disc player or the 6 disc? Or is there no difference between the two?

Old thread I know, found it from search. Anyway, I have an 03 I want to put a new stereo into, now I have the plain jane AM/FM. I went out and pulled it today to check the wiring. If my count is correct, the table above shows 12 wires. Mine has 15. Anyone have any info or help on this subject? Also, the table above mentions two different ground wires if I read it right. The unit I want to put in shows a ground connection to be grounded to the chassis. So would I use the chassis or connect to the two mentioned grounds above? Thanks for any help.

I really suggest you do yourself a favor and pick up a Scosche FD16B, or Metra 70-1771 wiring adapter. They make installing stereos so much easier.

Yes, please don't hack your stock wiring. Those adapters are cheap and make the install almost plug and play. Get the adapter, solder it up to your new radios harness and then install it.

At the radio connector solid pink is the accessory relay delay wire and black w/ light green stripe is your ground.

Can that pink wire be found elsewhere (behind the drivers side access panel) or does the radio need to be pulled. Wanna use it as an amp turn on.

It's just a switched power lead. You can find two of them under the steering column, or you can tap into the radio fuse.

Old topic I know but Kind of releavent to my questions, err, at least one of them, The other is a Door lock question but still in wiring.

1st - What all wores ar behind the radio of a 2005 F350 KingRanch with the 6-disk and wheel controls? is the wheel control just one wire or is it a whole seperate plug, I already have one of those metra wireharnesses all set up for the power, dimmer, and 4 speakers, from another truck (06) but the old one didn't have the steering wheel buttons.

The one that is kind of off-topic is, If I was to install an aftermarket alarm is there ANY way I'd be able to hook up to the stock Keyless thingy so that I can still use the door keypad but not have the interior buttons back feed into the alarm, Maybe a wire I just have to diode?

Thanks in Advance,
Eugene

Your truck has a databus, basically is like computer network with the different components in the truck talking on one line. The databus should convey the steering wheel controls. The question is what kind protocols are used and how do you make the new radio accept the other devices on the network?

For the alarm, if you just tie in lock/unlock wires, it will not arm the alarm when you lock using the door controls. All of the models I've played with will only arm when you use the alarm's keyfob to lock/arm the system.
