Noticed some seepage thru the top cac hose at turbo. Middle of hose. For those in the know, would this just be normal seepage or is the silicone starting to break down and the hose needs replacing? All other hoses are dry. It was replaced under warranty about four years ago but don't know if that would be an upgraded hose or not. Thanks, mike
Thanks Mark that was what I was thinking. Actually that hose was replaced about 2 years ago, just before the 3 year part of warranty ran out. They replaced all of them at that time.
I probably should not even say this, because I am JUST WONDERING whether or not it is possible (I do not have any reason to believe it - just curious):
I have been wondering if synthetic oil (and its additive packages) is more likely to soften the hoses than conventional oil. I can't recall the oil you use or how long you have been using it.
This is why I love my CCV re-route. I got pretty excited yesterday - I found the pressure spec for the crankcase - it is 0.3 psi (15 mmHg). By my calcs, to stay in this pressure range, you need 1 inch hose for the ccv re-route (assuming 10 cfm blow-by for a mid-to-high mileage engine).

I have just changed from dino to syn. about 2,000 miles ago so I am going to go on a limb and say that the syn. does not affect the hoses anymore than dino. Maybe less?
