Testing batts seperately

When testing the batteries seperately lets say i decide to disconnect the drivers side battery.....do I have to remove the positive cable and the neg from the drivers side battery or just the positive???

Ok tested em seperately....my primary battery (pass. side one) was bad , I replaced both with DURALAST GOLD 850 CCA...with a 3 yr. full replacement warranty and after that it is pro rated for 8 yrs i believe...for $99.00 a piece...it's a deal i couldn't refuse...
