Parasitic Draw on Battery testing?

I should know this but...do I need to disconnect the Driver side (secondary/auxilary) battery before performing the parasitic draw testing? Or can it be performed by establishing a Voltmeter test shunt between the Passenger side (Primary) battery while still connected in tandem to secondary? Also, which is the best terminal to test from...I've read to test from the Negative and then also read to test from the Positive...anyone know which is correct or preferred? Thanks.

Remove the cable from the driver's side that goes to the fuse box and check the draw with an ammeter in this location (between cable and post). Then, with this still disconnected check the draw between the passenger side battery positive cable and post to see the draw from the parts wired off that battery. Doing this will help you find which power cable (passenger side or drivers side) the draw is coming from. Then you'll have to chase it downstream. Good luck.

When I had my batts checked it gave a false reading. When I disconnected the driver's and tested them individually I had one bad batt.
