Yeah, that looks real nice, and I wouldn't mind parking it in my garage any day! However, with 10,000 miles and if I was looking to preserve it from new, I wouldn't have the bed scratched that much.

Also if you look at the shifter, you can see the paint worn off, and this wouldn't have happened in 10,000 miles, but still a very nice truck. I wonder what they will take for it?

I might also question the actual mileage of the vehicle. It is clean but the shift lever has more miles than the seller is indicating and the worn clutch pedal would also suggest more miles than 10K.
A/c comprssor, though very clean is not as clean as the bracket, which appears that is has seen much use. Those pulleys and brackets look like my 200K plus mile trucks that dont really get cleaned as often as they should.

Other than a discrepancy in the mileage, it is a nice lookng truck.

This same truck was on e-bay acouple of months ago. It bid up to $7,050.00 and didn't hit the reserve. My guess is the reserve is 10K. It's a dealer thats selling it.

Did they color match the gas caps back then? One cap looks different than the other.
The shifter looks like that could be the flash from the camera.

I remember a couple of years ago there was a 78 or 79 on ebay that only had a few hundred miles on it. The truck still had the tags from the factory hanging off of the parts on the under carriage. It looked a lot cleaner than this one and went for 35,000.

I say they did a nice resto and found a low mile speedo to help the claim that it is a low mile truck.

Floor mats, gauge plastic, valve covers etc look too "new" for a 36 year old truck. Even if the truck was climatically in storage those parts would still look old.

Just about anyone can reset one of these odometers to zero or any other number for that matter. I've done several.

It has had some minor work done to it but that looks low miles to me. Why touch up everything but the brake booster? Nothing looks unoriginal except the AC system. But then why repair the AC system and not the brakes?

I guess it could have been used on a truck, but I think of the Maverick when I think of grabber blue. And as posted before it is not that hard turn a a speedo back, or all the way around. I have also seen where the speedo was disconnected to keep it from going over the 12,000 warrenty.

I have actually seen that before (refreshed), but it's usually on highly valued muscle cars like Mustangs and Challengers and such that the seller is trying to pass off as a low mileage vehicle to get more value over a restored version.

So, it wouldn't surprise me to see someone go out of their way to freshen up the paint (like the firewall) and leave the brackets and booster.

Why somebody would take the time to do that to a 70s Ford pick-up is the real question. I "want" to believe it is a real low mileage truck, but I doubt it. I saw the ultra low mile (I think it was under 10,000 miles) 1972 Ford F100 truck at an Auto Show a few years back, the paint and engine compartment were immaculate, but the interior seat and floor mat were showing their age.

Rubber and vinyl do not hold up to time, and time is the key.

I always think of the Boss 429 Mustang!
