oil pan help

hey guys my oil pan gaskets shot i was just curious if it bolts right off or if i need to lift the engine to get it off it a 91 e350 van thx

What engine do you have? With the 5.8 you would need to lift the engine off the mounts, though I don't imagine that you will be able to go up more than a couple of inches. You can then drop the pan down roughly the same distance, but it is not going to have enough room to slide out. You will need to work within this gap while peeling/scraping all the old gasket material out and then slip the new one over the pan and into position. Doable, but not the most fun you will have that day. I can't imagine any of the other engines you may have would be any easier.

Here are a couple quick photos of my 94 E350 5.8. Notice that my engine mounts are not actually bolted to the frame, so these photos show more room than you will actually have.

ya i have the 351 as well, i got a chiltons on it and figured it out lol,this sites about useless anymore.but thx for the help
