Friday night I had to use my parking brake but when I pull the release nothing releases save for the pedal. So I had to limp home with the brakes smelling strongly of overheating pad (mind you they were already glazed and one may have even had signs or cracking).
Next day I take it to my shop and they are pack and want get around to looking at it until Tuesday (today) so now today I get a call saying once again they need to replace all the guts of the rear brakes + shoes and I would expect drums to the tune of $525.
The $650+install disc brake axle swap is beginning to look economical just so I don't have so many parts too fail in the first place.
Why did I take one about 35 years ago. Don't remember much, but still have the hammer I made with a plastic head and a brass head. I sucked at cutting threads.
