2006 F150 vent-defrost problems

2006 F150 vent-defrost problems

Son has the above vehicle and lately(50,000 miles) he has no control over where the air comes out of. Anyone else have this problem, and does anyone know the fix!! thanx. wnk.

Yep, mine 06 did the same thing, the blend actuator door in the dash needs to be replaced, there is also a TSB on it.

Whole dash needs to come out.

I doubt it buddy. Probably just a vacuum leak going to the control head. Check for vacuum leaks under the hood, over by the battery.

If I'm not mistaken... ours doesn't use vacuum control.

my 05 has some function but I can't get defrost to blow on windshield.I can hear a racheting noise.

Yep... That's a blend door/door actuator problem.
