sensor question
my question is to do with a 1993 f150 with auto overdrive and positrac diff. the speedo has quit working and tranny is shifting hard . we have been told it has to do with a sensor on the rear end . what all does this sensor do and would it cause these problems ? all help would be appreciated.thanks P.R.Douglas in ontario canada also motor is 302

Yes the sensor on top of the rear diff is the RABS/VSS sensor, it feeds the ABS brakes, the PSOM that drives the speedo, and the EEC computer that controls the engine and trasnmission. A problem with this sensor can affect some or all these systems.
