I'm putting an E4OD trans into an '83 F100 with a 5.0 motor. I need a 1 3/4" longer crossmember, since the mount is 8" further back and the frame rails are wider at that point.
I think that a F150/F250 crossmember from a vehicle with an E4OD trans should work.
What year truck should I look for to get the right crossmember?
I have one out of a 1991 F150 2wd and also one out of a 1991 Bronco - is your truck 2wd or 4wd? The 2wd one is flat and bolts to the frame "lip" on both sides, the one from the Bronco bolts to the lip on the driver's side but curls up around the frame on the pass. side and bolts to the outside of the frame rail.

jas88,
My truck is a 2WD. My present crossmember bolts to the frame 'lip' on both sides. I will measure the present crossmember and post it here. Please measure yours. We can take this offline if it's compatible.
