Hey guys im new to this forum and i have a question. I just picked up a 76 f100 with a 351 Cleavland in it. It has no posi, idles at 600, the motor is almost brand new, and runs strong, but the truck cant lay rubber what so ever, does anyone know what my problem might be? And it cant accelerate at all. Thank You!

I side with one of the previous replies, I think you have a 351m. I didn't think they put a Cleveland series in the F100's. According to what I've read, about 39% of the F100 series had 5.9L 360's, didn't they?
Anywho, I had a '75 F100 w/ a 351c (from a '77 Shelby we had that got clipped in the back end), a posi rear, & manual tranny. It would boil the tires in 1st, bark them hard in 2nd, and felt like it would break loose in 3rd. I loved that truck & have been trying track it down for the last 10 years...
You may want to check your rear end ratio as well, maybe geared too high...
Hey guys no it is a 351 Cleavland i know the pervious owner who did the swap from a mach 1, anyways it idles at 900, and yea i floor it and it doesnt churp barely launches and takes forever to get going. I dont know what the ratio is, whatever a 9" with no posi is i guess haha
