OK, I can't believe that I am posting about a friggin' antenna replacement. The antenna on my 2001 Super Crew was snapped off right at the base. The base of mine is mounted right on the curve of the fender and is held in with 3 metal screws. I've checked out ALL of the replacement antennas at parts shops to not avail. A universal replacement will not work as the original antenna mast is at an angle to the base. The universal replacements I have checked out all have a flat base and would stick out at some ungodly angle. Are there alternatives, or am I stuck going to the dealer to get an original part?
I had the same problem although mine didn't snap at the base, the antenna was always bent at the base outwards and it was unsightly. ended up taking a universal shorty flexible one and fabbing it to work on my 150.
My antenna was always hitting the top of the garage door going in and out. I found a "shorty" antenna on Americantrucks.com for $20 and had it in 2 days. Its an OEM replacement and just screws into the existing base. Works as good as the original and took about a minute to install.
