Spins and sputters...
I have a buddy with a 95 f-150 300 I6 and standard trans that spins over and tries to kick but won't quite start. He was on the highway when it stalled, no sputtering or anything. When cranking the exhaust smells extremely rich so I doubt it's a fuel pump. I tried pulling the codes and got either 52, 25, 22, or 522 twice... 22 - map sensor out of range, 25 - knock not sensed during test(makes no sense since KOER only), 52 - power steering switch always open or closed, 522 - vehicle not in park or N during test. None really make sense so if any one has any ideas please share!

It would be 522. The first one is the KOEO test, the second group are the CM codes, which are codes that have been tripped while driving and stored. I think it goes back to the last 30 starts or so.
522 just means that you didn't push the clutch in during the test. It's not related to the problem at all.
It sounds to me like you're not getting spark, or only a very weak one. When was the last tune-up? Air filter?

I doubt he has done anything as far as maintenance on it(such a shame). I was leaning towards the ignition system too but haven't had time to check for spark and I don't like just throwing parts at something and hoping it works. I will let you know what I find and if any other ideas always happy to hear them.
