The ABS light on my 93 F150 started blinking earlier this evening. And it has been blinking ever sense. I was making a right hand turn and the light came on for 2-3 seconds, then went off for 2-3 seconds, then started blinking 15 short blinks then 1 long, no brake lights as well. I did a search and learned that it is most often a blown fuse. But mine isnt. i pulled codes and got 522 KOEO. I haven't been able to find the code.
On weekends, I work for a farmer with a 96 or 97 F350 with a similar problem. Spliced from, what I believe is the some of the wiring for the trailer, wires go into the camper cap for an internal light. I'm not sure if there is brake lights & blinkers on the cap as well.
Anyway, whoever set this up, was a bit sloppy and the the insulation is getting worn away causing a short . Anyway, whenever the camper cap is connected, the ABS light blinks regularly, when you disconnect the wiring going to the camper cap, it stops.
You may check any wiring that may go to a trailer or if you have a trailer brake controller, check it. Otherwise, maybe have someone watch to see if all of your brake lights work.
We never found out exactly what wires are shorting so I can't be more specific but it should be a place to start. Also, check any fuses for anything brake/blinker/lighting related. Let we know what you find.
I checked my tail lights and they dont work. But like i said the fuse isnt broken. Ill try putting in a different fuse tomorrow just in case, even though its appears to be good.
Well, this morning i got a chance to look into it more. I found that i had blown the 50AMP fuse in the engine comparment. And i figured out that, it is the same fuse that the empty fuse slot i was using in the cab for my radios and that i had temperarly wired a BIG 12v compressor using alligator clamps which i think shored and blew it. But i think its all fixed now.
Thanks for the help, and sorry fordguy the solution probably wasn't to helpful. Good Luck
