ABS light
The other day my ABS light came on while hauling a fairly heavy load in my 05 F150. It stayed on til I got home (several miles). I shut the truck off, restarted it, and the light was off. Hasnt been on since. Does anyone know what this was about? I'm thinking maybe the brake system shuts the ABS feature off with some weight in the truck?

Same thing happened on my 08. It seems that when I cleaned off the brake dust on the front wheels that seem to resolve it. I don't think it has anything to do with pulling weight. Shutting it off does reset it. Or it could be a bad sensor.

While hauling this load of dirt, I had to hit the pedal pretty hard to avoid an a**hole pulling in front of me. I felt it pulse, like when you start a skid, but it only lasted a couple seconds. So maybe with all of the weight that the tires had on them, it didnt feel a skid, so it quit the ABS system. But them the light came on 10 min later on the freeway. Oh well hasnt been on since, so water under the bridge. My wheels stay pretty free of dust, since I replaced with a better grade of pads than factory.
