Not sure if this is your issue or not, but I recently replaced the ABS sensor on top of the rear diff in my EXPO after looking at the ABS light for about 3 years, and whala, problem solved. Really wish I would have just did that 3 years ago.
Second that rear ABS sensor . A vast majorty of ABS problems seen here have been solved by the rear diff sensor replacement . They are cheap ,easy to replace and available at most parts stores .

Thanks all..
I removed, cleaned and reinstalled the front two sensors. This has caused the light to go out for now and the pedel has stopped pulsating (like warped rotors). So I beleive I fixed it for 10 minutes of my time. I did locate the rear sensor and if the light comes back I will pull and clean it too.
Thanks for all the help, saved me lots of time and probably cash.
I have had an ABS light on for years and was told that I need to change the computer.
However, I would like to check those sensors (as the light has gone off and on). I have a 98 expedition 4.6. Where do I check for those sensors? How did you clean it up?

There is on on the top forward section of the rear differential and one on the inside forward portion of both front wheels (behind the rotors) very easy to get to with a 8 or 9 mm socket . I used some break cleaner or electrical contact cleaner and a paper towel. just go gentle is all I can say.
NOW! -- my light is back on and the pedal is pulsating aging.. perhaps one of the sensors is bad. Going to reclean them to see if they picked something else up today. I would recommend removing the wheel and rotor to clean the whole deal for the front.
I was driving the other day and the ABS light came on. I looked online to see what the problem might be and this forum was a great help. Everyone said check the rear differential sensor first. So I pulled the sensor and cleaned and reinstalled but did not fix. Local store had part in stock and replaced in ten minutes. Light is off now! I'm a college kid who fixed this sensor in the parking lot with a small socket set. Anyone who can find the rear differential can do this. Its right on top. Only twenty two bucks for sensor and a little dielectric tube at the counter.
I had an intermittent ABS light come on -- nothing noticeable in the pedal. Replaced it in under 20 minutes, love this site and love how helpful you all are - thank you so much. The light is off, hopefully stay off. If it's the front I think it will be a little more involved . THanks again, love when there are pics.
Thanks to the forum, I also replaced the rear sensor, but that did not solve the issue as the ABS light is still on. What are next steps to troubleshoot the issue?
