If you have never done a rear set up i would have someone that has done it before walk you thru it. IT has to be perfect or you will screw it up. It is not something to be learned from a book
Danas need set up bearings. Both axles need special tools to set them up properly. Did you get these diffs used? I would check out the L/S to make sure it is not shot before you get into it, because things can start adding up REAL quick. The money for a shop to do it is a lot (I used to work at a shop setting them up), but it is also worth the prce to do it right.
All of the gears and the lsd are brand new in the box, all im doing is switching out the gears in the truck for the gears i have, and i have the complete rebuild kit for both diffs as well, i dont really understand what can be so tough, it can only go togather one way.

Things like backlash & bearing preload & correct shim thickness. I agree with
Brad, this is not something to be taken on by a Saturday mechanic without help
from people who know what they're doing (if you want any confidence in &
reliability of the end product).
You are replacing all the insides of the axles. A lot of the shim measurements are going to change. By the time you invest in the proper tools and such, along with time invested, money savings will be small. Warranty issues can come into play too - if you burn up the gears they probably will not be covered since they might not have been set up properly.
I researched this for days, bought special tools and tried it myself on my mustang.. i installed FRPP gears and long story short the install took about 4 hours with tinkering with it, took the car around the block, BAD NOISE! took out the whole rear axle and took it to the shop..
its hard you gotta have a good stock of shims and know what you are doing

NO WRONG! It can go together about 30 different ways. With a responce like this you obviously have no idea what you are doing. Take it to a shop.
haha, sarcasm man, sarcasm. I have a couple friends that are pretty knowledgeable and im pretty good too, i mean this truck used to be 2 wheel drive i converted it to four.
and theres no way besides the VIN you could ever tell it didnt come stock that way. even the 4x4 dash lights work. Im pretty mechanically inclined, ive just never taken on this task. i need somebody who knows what they are talking about and someone whos done it several times to tell exactly what tools ill need and all do's and dont's. so this thing will perform well and last me a while.

It is more than telling you what to do and how to do it. If it was that easy everyone would do it them selves. Hell, it is only about $50 worth of tools to do the job. I own all of them and i am trained to do em(and cetrified), and i still leave it to the professionals. But i hope you do it, and F it up so we all can laugh and say we told you
