I have the wastegate as tight as it will go but the red line is hooked up. Having the red line hooked up didn't seem to make much of a difference, other than its a little laggier on the bottom.

Do u have instructions for tightening the wastegate rod?
Could this have any ill effects?

I alwyas let off when I get near 25psi. Going to fast, I need a better area where to test it. I got it close to 30 the other day but the truck was moving good and didn't want to risk getting a ticket.

Step 1. Remove actuator from turbo (2 10mm nuts and that nasty little clip on the arm end- take care not to lose the clip).
Step 2. Unplug red line
Step 3. Lift arm off of pin for the wastegate flapper, remove wastegate actuator from turbo
Step 4. Tighten the bugger down as tight as it can go
Step 5. Reinstall
It will take some doing to get the actuator arm back onto the pin after you have tightened it down. Make sure the pin on the wastegate flapper doesn't move while you are working or you'll never get it to reach again (just pull it toward the driver's side all the way) The only ill effects are those that result from running too much boost for too long... turbo go boom. This can be controlled by your right foot.
FWIW, I'm thinking of readjusting mine not to be so tight, and tweak it to where it will let me hold 27psi.

I think aftercooler comes from "after the turbo" and "cooling" the compressed air. It is the same with "Turbo Boost", it has always been called "Manifold Pressure" in our industry, just differant terms for the same thing. Sorry for the confusion!
Technically our trucks don't have an intercooler, that's just what everyone calls it. An intercooler would be mounted between two turbos in a compound setup. What we have is an aftercooler, or charge air cooler.

I have my wastegate rod adjusted so that it will begin to open at around 12 psi.
Developes boost very quickly that way and it will peak out at around 25 psi if I'm pulling a grade with the trailer and using the 45hp medium tow tune.
I have the boost regulator from ITP diesel between the manifold and the MAP sensor.
