If it's EFI the TPS is located on the bottom of the throttle body, but if it's EFI the first step to diagnosing a problem should be pulling the codes. See www.fordfuelinjection.com for all the details.

I'm pretty sure it depends on the manufacture date-cause I got an 87 302 and it's carbed-and I know of 3 or 4 others that are 351 windsors that I have worked on that are EFI and 1987 models

could be the IAC mounted on the side-I hear if ya pull the two big tubes off and look you will see a small hole to the right side inside the metal tube -if ya crank it and put your finger over it if it idles down it might be the IAC -conanski might be a bit better on them-he is real good with these things-but pulling the codes keeps ya from just throwing parts on it and fixing nothing but the parts place pockets

When my 87 Ranger was pinging & stalling off the line in first gear I pulled the codes.
The scanner flashed a 53 (TPS voltage too high).
Sure enough when I put my VOM on it the output voltage was all jumping all over the place..
Like Conanski sez take a couple of minutes to pull the codes.
