Remote start sticker

Saw this sticker on my truck today. Got me wondering if my truck could have remote start on it. The sticker is hi quality like an OEM sticker not some paper junk like an aftermarket remote start might include. If you'll also note the sticker is in english and spanish and has some sorta part number in the lower right hand corner.I took the trim off under the steering wheel to look for signs of a remote start module, with no luck. There are also no signs of the harness ever being spliced into for an aftermarket unit. Also I only have one key to the truck, I know some aftermarket units require a PATS bypass module that requires a key inside them to work. I didnt see signs of a PATS bypass module either, but i did not take the trim off of the steering wheel itself and look there. My questions are: Was factory remote start and option in '04? If so where might I check for some sorta control module and did they put the stickers on the radiator shroud. Why else would I have this sticker?

I don't think that the remote start was a factory installed option in '04, but I know there were Ford units available for install at the dealer. More than likely your rig probably had one of those or an aftermarket setup that the original owner removed prior to trade-in/selling. That sticker looks like the ones I've received with aftermarket units.

I put an aftermarket remote start in my truck. One of the things you had to do in my kit was there was this ring with two wire I think connected to it that goes around the ignition. Not sure if all remote starts have this but you might wana check to see if there is one there or not.

The control module would probably be zip-tied up under the dash on the drivers side.

Thanks. The thing looped around the ignition is what i was looking for for a PATS bypass. I did not see one, I may loo again just to be sure. That would explain the missing key also. No module zip tied under the dash either. If the truck had an aftermarket unit that was removed, they did a good job. I can see no evidence of splicing anywhere under the dash. Just baffles me as to why I have a sticker, but no remote start. Unless the fan shroud was replaced with one from a junk yard and the replacement just happened to have the sticker on it.

When I got my remote start they didnt need another key. I still have both of my orignials I got when I bought the truck used. The kit I got didnt require and splicing. It was like a T connector that would clip over the wire and had a metal piece that would go through the plastic of the wire. When taken off you cant really tell there was anything there.

Ford DOES NOT offer Remote Start from the factory in the trucks/Suv's.

If you want it, you must have the Dealer do an install. From what I've heard, the "OEM" Remote Start is actually made by a company called Code Alarm.

A remote start setup is pretty obvious under the dash. And since you aren't seeing signs of spliced wires...I'm betting it wasn't installed.

Was your truck in a wreck? You mentioned the shroud being replaced

I'm just guessing, could be a possibility the shroud was replaced and the sticker came with it. I looked again today. No signs of a remote start other than the sticker.
