anyone know of a source for the complete body mount kit for a 77 crew cab 4x4? I checked w/ broncograveyard, 1 month backorderlist at a mininum. LMC has the oem rubber ones on backorder, at least 1 week min., would prefer poly's but can't, actually don't want to wait that long for the 'chance' from broncograveyard, and they said it could 'possibly' be longer!
I installed the LMC body mount kit on my truck. I got the complete kit with hardware b/c I was removing a crappy body lift. I was happy with the quality of the kit.
i used lmcs kit on my truck and i thought the qualty was decent. had one that wasnt formed right, and a bolt that was too short. you can actually got to the ford dealership and order these new. i used one from like an 86, but it was the same. the only thing is theyre pricey. i think the 1 mount i got was like 70$ or something, its been 5 years i could be wrong.
I think I am going to order the LMC...something about the oem rubber ones still intact, just replacing because I am switching the bodies/cabs, had to cut off becuse the nuts/bolts rusted ...and... I want this truck to be comfortable and the poly...long lasting translates to harder compound ....thus transforming the vibrations into the cab, which at my age I want comfort!I will let my son replace them another 30+ yrs later
I already did the search for you. The body bushings are toward the bottom. All '73-'79 cab mount bushings should be the same...you probably just need to put the rear ones farther back on a crewcab.
I have a polyurethane body and bushing kit on my 76. If you decide to go that route, be prepared for a significantly stiffer ride than the rubber bushings.
thanks again for the replies guys!! I was away for wednesday and had ordered the rubber kit from LMc...began thinking hard about the longer lasting poly's and decided against the 'wear' factor and decided on the 'comfort/softer' shock factor...
hp246....you could've chimed in earlier, but now that I chose the rubber ones and heard about your experience I feel that it was the right decision, and heck if it isn't I will wait on the poly's when I do the 78 f150 cab swap
bowtie..thanks for the search. I think they are the supplier for broncog?, when I was searching I saw their product on alot of the dealer/supplier pages, I guess they are on backoreder w/ their production/shipments???
pontiacs are good!!....shouldn't be a problem here they aren't anny competetion for the dentsides...although my son keeps telling/asking me to finish the 69 GTO convertible instead of doing my 77 crew cab!
