im looking at ordering a leveling kit this week for my 95 f150 4x4. i was looking on broncograveyard.com and they have one kit for a reg cab and one for a supercab. why would the supercab coil springs be different than the reg. cab ones? the reason im asking is because one kit is BDS and the other kit is Superlift. i dont really know which brand is better so i figured id ask the experts. heres the links below:
I bought mine off eBay and they said not for supercabs. When I asked why they said the springs are a little different in diameter.
I called a couple parts stores and the ford dealer and they list the same spring for the reg can long box as the supercab shortbox. So I got them anyway and they fit good
yea thats what im thinkin. mine are the original shocks and the truck has 117,000 miles on it so ill probably order 2. i would order 4 because my truck has factory quad shocks up front but the ones that are on clearance are only for the front of the front axle. thanks for your input!
I'm going to probably be getting the Superlift ones again. Its my understanding that the BDS have the same specs as the Superlift. An extended cab truck weighs more than a regular cab. Superlift also makes then for regular cab. Bronco Graveyard doesn't list the Superlift regular cab ones.
You don't need different shocks. Years ago I had longer shocks with leveling springs. I swear they were almost too long.
alright, ill keep that in mind. i just got a quote from a local tire/4x4 shop on an alignment and the guy told me that it would be around $45 so that dont sound too bad to me. ill probably order the kit today or tommorow.
ill get some before and after pictures up when its finished. hopefully ill be able to get the bushings in myself but this shop lifts alot of trucks so id think that they would be able to do everything correctly. hopefully it wont cost $200 cause thats a little more than i wanna pay.
