danr1, so that is a single function reservoir? Can I just unhook it from the fuel lines? I do not know where its leaking at but I do know that it is leaking. I can take it off and check it out. One thing I like about these trucks is the plastic fuel lines. If they were metal there could be a lot more leaks and a lot more problems.
Yea dual tank trucks have the dual function reservoir, 6 lines connected to it total. Single tank models have the single function, 4 lines total.
I'd clean it good before I removed it and find out exactly where it leaks, flush it with carb cleaner and then dry it all off then run it and watch for the leak.
It may have a broken clip or 0 ring at a line allowing one of the fittings to leak, doesn't happen often but it is possible. I believe most of them start leaking at the bowl though, some of them you can unscrew and remove the bowl, I'm not sure yours is one of them though. One of the others here may know for sure.
And yea them style lines last the life of the truck, tend to be much easier to release then the newer style fittings too!
But the O rings clips on em can and do deteriorate over time, what some 20 years old now on that one?
Yeah, truck is 21. Same age as me. It belonged to my dad before me and he is in Iraq so its a little hard to contact him about it. I will crawl under there tomorrow and clean it all up and check it out. Ill post back what I find. Thanks for the info!
