I have to replace part of my fuel line from the rubber connect about 3 quarters of the way up the bed to the fuel pump due to its leaking and sucking air in the line. I get paid tomorrow and am going to head to my local parts store to get the line. What size do I need to ask for? It looks like its probably 5/16 or 3/8. But I wanted to check with you guys first on the correct size. My truck is a 1975 F100 reg cab long bed 2wd 302.
3/8" And while on this subject............I picked up a new sending unit a couple of weeks ago from Oreileys. My old one had a 3/8 tube coming out of it and the new one was only 5/16". They said that was the only one listed, so I returned it. Just an FYI...........if you replace your sender, make sure that its the same as what came off of it.....
Fuel line is like $1.50 a foot...if that...make sure you DON'T get Fuel Injection line.
Why not? The FI line is a tighter fit and usually better quality.
Also doesn't cost much more than regular fuel line. Actually, I think the parts stores around here don't really carry seperate gas lines. They do carry "emissions" hose for PCV and crap.
