I noticed an oil leak last week. Just a cap full or so after being parked for a while. I started looking at it after driving it and noticed that it was leaking quickly after driving and then stopped. I put an hpx on a couple days after the leak started just becasue I had got it in the mail and wanted to get it on, and then it really started leaking. So I thought it must be coming from the hpx connections, i checked them throughly and it wasnt them. It is comeing down the back of the engine but I didn't think it was the main seal. So I got an o-ring kit and took the turbo and pedistal off and replaced the o-rings. The valley was full of oil, so it had to be coming from up there somewhere. put it back together and tightened all the plugs along the oil rails, and now it leaks about 5 drops when it is sitting in the drivway. I can,t figure out where it is coming from. Anyone got an idea for me?
Get some simple green and clean the valley up, then look for the leak. Are you sure it's oil and not fuel? I had the cap on my fuel filter leak the other day and it looked like oil in the valley.
I just changed the ICP last week when i put the HPX on, it had oil in the connection so it must have been bad. I have had the same thought about the Fuel instead of oil, I will check that out. And the simple green is a good idea.
