Front Axle

Three questions:
1. How to tell which axle I have to get rotors for?

NAPA:
Brake Rotor Only - Front - Premium
w/ 3,800 lb. Axle NB 4885731 $45.99

Brake Rotor Only - Front - Premium
Over 8,500 lb. GVW NB 4886476 $45.99

Brake Rotor Only - Front - Premium
4600 Pound Drive Axle NB 4886789 $53.49

2. Anyone know the correct "hub tool" I need?

3. Other items needed, correct numbers?

They only put one axle in these 250's. It is a dana 50 TTB.
The truck has a GVWR of 8800 (mine does anyway) So you need the ones for over 8500 lbs. (the middle ones listed above.)

Should be a axle rating on the drivers side door sticker. Not sure the exact hub tool you need. I'm sure someone else will chime in shortly.

Thanks. I'm kind of worried about taking this apart, never had 3/4T apart. Have had 1/2T apart alot.

Shouldn't be too different than a 1/2 ton. It's been a few years since I had a 4wd apart though...

Would it be a good idea to replace front axle u-joints at this time?

If it hasn't been driven hard or had the 4x4 used a lot I wouldn't worry about the front joints much. If you offroad it a lot I would replace them.

OT, I think that someone should donate a Dana 60, front leaf springs, and the 4x4 steering parts to me... Just a thought...
