I need new front brake rotors. Does anyone have experience with the Advance Auto Wearever rotors or should I just stick with the NAPA rotors. I can get the Advance Auto rotors for $79 and the NAPA for $99.
Here is my take on brakes componets for our Super Duties.
My original factory pads and rotors have taken me thus far to 90k miles and still have lots of Life on them. I will replace mine with Factory Parts when the time comes.
While different brake pads can make big difference in performance, I have never seen big difference in the rotors. They are all made with steel.
I never hesitated to buy aftermarket (Chinese) rotors even for my Mercedes.

maybe a trip to the junkyard to get some factory one, so who makes the factory ones for ford? might be good info to know then you could buy that brand.

Check out rock auto. They have many different brands including Motorcraft. Some Motorcraft rotors are around $91.00.
Thanks for the responses. I found some oem rotors at a Ford dealer close to me for just over $100 and I think that is the route I will take. I bought the truck used and the original owner must have draged the brakes a lot. Sixty thousand miles and all four corners are toast. The left front caliper must have been hanging up because that one got down to the rotor. But new brakes is still cheaper than buying the truck new.
No it was each. It was a chore change the brakes on this vehicle. All the bleeder screws were nearly siezed. I need to rebuild the front left caliper. The rubber boots around the pistons are shot. But the new hawk pads work great. I am pleased with the performance of the new brakes.
I would replace that caliper right away if it is bad. It will end up sticking and possibly wrecking your new brake job. If just the boots are bad, buy the new caliper pin kit that comes with the boots and new pins. VERY important to properly lube the pins in these calipers.

That is the plan for next weekend. It is not the pins and pin boots but the actual boots/seals on the caliper pistons. I was hoping to rebuild the caliper rather than shelling out the cash for an entire caliper.
For my '01 a new caliper was only $50 at Oreilly's but I am sure that is more then a rebuild kit but then at least you have a lifetime warranty.
$50 for a new caliper? Was there a special discount or something, that is one heck of a deal.
I've run the Napa rotors and have been able to return them for warping later on as an even swap under their warranty. I don't think you can go wrong with them. Are their better rotors out there, of course but the Napa brand will do the job all the same.
No that is there price everyday price. Mine is an '01 F250 V10 4wd. t is a reman but it is still warranteed.
