Ford Fairlane Skyliner

A couple of videos of the Skyliner. The first one is particularly good!

There are a few of the Skyliners that show up to the Cruise Night at the Fairplex. I went on Wednesday and there were three. The next show is the last Wednesday of this month and not another until October, best of all its free. I like those YouTube commercials expecially the one with Ricky and Lucy.

How about starting up a thread with the details on that show at Fairplex, Alex? There might be a few folks interested in going to it...myself included.

I know the caps were correct, that's why I can't believe the transporters left them on instead of throwing them into the car for safekeeping.

They look close to the Electra's, but they are a larger bolt pattern. I believe these were off of a Roadrunner or GTX, which are the same bolt pattern with a slightly larger diameter center hub hole.

Yes, and every one looks like a starter solenoid. I helped a guy work on his, and we eventually got it working, but.....

I knew that about the solenoids, there's a separate shop manual just for the roof mechanism on these cars.

I've owned at least 10 1957 & 1959 Ford's over the years including a '57 Skyliner. The '58's are...IMO, butt ugly.

One of the guys I worked with at Douglas many years back formerly worked at Ford's Hamburg stamping plant as a die maker. He used to curse the day Ford designed the retractable, though he did say that reworks on that tooling provided him with a lot of overtime.

What's happening Chris? Your Slashers are starting to sneak away from the pack for that second place spot in the Fantasy league.

Well I had a couple good weeks. Way to go beating the freaks last week. Had kind of a rough week last week.

You seem to be rolling at the moment.

Last week was good to me, but it's easy to go from the penthouse to the outhouse in seven days.

I don't know how vivid your imagination is, Bob - but I can say that they are in my opinion less than pleasant.
