August All Topic - All Welcome!!

Gunsmoke was my Grandmothers favorite show.
I was too young to watch it during it's best years. During the last half of it's run it became much too clean and PC. It remained popular, I'm guessing, because of it's previous quality long past it's prime.
A few years ago when we got Encore Westerns channel, I got into watching it every night, two episodes per night. Encore owns the rights to all the black and white episodes, and another network (maybe TV Land, not sure) owns all the color episodes. The color episodes are more appropriate for younger viewers for the reasons I mentioned above.
A lot of superstars had guest appearances in that show. Burt Reynolds was a regular for 1 or 2 seasons IIRC. He played a half breed Indian who was disliked by most of the town folk. Kind of like Tonto, he got the crap kicked out of himself regularly. But Marshall Dillon like him.

Guess not. There's nothing like having...a failure to communicate...is there kiddo?

Where meant what channel could your dad have possibly watched Gunsmoke on every night, since it was only broadcast on Saturday nights.
I also listed the network: CBS. Channel 2 here in LA LA Land.
Is it the same channel in Riverside? Prolly.

Since you prolly never heard of any of these people, the following info isn't typed for your benefit.
Both John Ford and John Wayne (who was originally offered the part), recommended James Arness for the role of Marshal Matt Dillon
James Arness had appeared in John Ford's film "Wagonmaster" in 1950.
Ken Curtis landed the role of Festus Hagen, because he was (at that time) John Ford's son-in-law.
Many of the Gunsmoke shows were directed by Andrew V. McLaglan, whose father Victor won a best actor Oscar in John Ford's 1935 film "The Informer."
I can see it know...A post asking who John Wayne, John Ford and Ken Curtis were.
Then I remembered why and corrected it...but...you beat me to it.
Ken Curtis appeared in Ford's The Searchers, and Wings of Eagles both starring the Duke, but you prolly knew that.
Where did Marion Michael Morrison get the nickname "Duke?" From his dog!
Who came up with the name John Wayne? Director Raoul Walsh, who directed Wayne in his first starring role: The Big Trail (Fox: 1931)
I thought the same thing on the post where i said "these" (referring to the 73-79 trucks in General not just the "Super Camper Special" which never came with tool-boxes...you know what post I'm talking about...I thought that post was clear enough for even a slow person to understand, guess not...
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
I think it's one of the most genuine stops of the ships. Do they now let the ships moor at that side of the Strait?
Bring home any of their salmon?
Do anything special while at Hoonah? Go into town?

smily is getting a little out of hand, starting to look like a tongue in cheek flaunting of the rules. And your usage in this quoted passage looks to me like a slap in the face. I suggest you keep in mind what you are posting, because the highlighted portion crossed the line of name calling. Furthermore, trying to pick an internet fight with Bill is gonna get you nowhere. In the future, please show a little more respect, mmmkay?
