A/C Problems
Searched but didn't quite find what I was looking for. The A/C in my truck lately has gotten intermittent. When I'm sitting at a light or stopped in gear sometimes the A/C will start to blow warm or isn't as cold as it should be while in stop and go. When i'm on the freeway or a highway it will freeze you out of the truck. And everytime i'm in a position to get out and look at the clutch the A/C is working and clutch is spinning (of course). Before I order a clutch which is my best guess does anyone have any suggestions to look into beforehand? It's the truck in my sig and has about 200,000 hard miles for reference

I would not throw parts (i.e. clutch) at it without first verifying that it is defective. I would check the fan because it sounds as though it could be a condenser air flow issue. It does not cool when you are stopped and relying entirely on the fan for circulation and it cools when you have circulation over the condenser because the vehicle is moving. Also, low refrigerant charge could cause this problem. Check it first and make an informed decision on what repair to make.
