Well my truck will rev up pretty well in neutral... and with no load on it...
It will hesitate right around 2200 RPM and then just sky rocket (3500+)
but then as soon as I put a load on it... the highest it will rev is 3300-3400 RPM. It feels as if fuel is being cutout of it.
Where is the stock rev limiter? And if there is not one, would an exhaust, chip, intake, and stage 1s take care of this? its my daily driver/work horse, I am not building a race truck, but i have always had to modify all my vehicles in some way... And a few extra hundred RPM would be great when towing the car...
BTW its a 97 Cali Truck.... So which injectors can I get for it?
In any gear, as soon as the tach hits the yellow area, the truck drastically loses power and then will slowly rev up to 3500. But you can definatly feel the difference.... There is no, I mean no power up there.
Looks like I will be looking at a FRP shim for while I'm testing. That won't cause any issues with a chip or stage ones will it?
I checked mine with a cheap tire gauge that way when it got destroyed I didnt lose any real money on it, second I took a light tension rubberband and tied it to thend of the pressure stick so it would pullit back in lightly and used that to get a basic average of the pressure. After that I just shoved in a BB. Also what are you asking about chips and injectors for,... You got a BIG upgrade scheduled? Before you do the shim though clean your FPR screen though to get a more accurate reading for you befrore and after to ensure you dont over do it.
I do have an upgrade coming.... Stage 1s, chip, full mrbp stainless turbo back, new glow plugs.... I did the 6637 mod today. Should run pretty well then... Hoping to have everyhting done before school starts again on august 24th.
