So I decided to seafoam my engine and do an "Italian Tuneup" on my Ex before swapping my spark plugs. For those not in the know, an "Italian Tuneup" is just getting it out on the highway and driving the snot out of it.
I got the Ex on a long, straight section of highway and floored it. It pulled fairly stron up to 95MPH. At about 95MPH, (Just shy of 4000 RPM) it backed off and stuttered.
The PCM will rev limit me at 5500 RPM when I free rev the engine, so I know it wasn't the rev limiter.
Is the factory PCM supposed to be limited at 95MPH?
Don't forget, the front end on the X is very light and can come up and flip the truck over at such speeds. Basically what happens is a low pressure area builds up under the oil pan and this pushes the front end up. Once the front tires leave the ground and the front is airborne congress starts passing laws that make sense and taxes are handed out how they should be. In other words I was kidding
I got curious the other day and wanted to see what this beast would do. Buried the needle with still room to go. The live wire was showing 112 at this point. I didn't want to push it any further.
i got up to 120 once when my truck was acting weired .. confirmed by my gps also .. then i stoped at a resttop for a pee break and tryed it again and hello 95 lol
