I think its neat that Fords have features that keep you from locking your keys in your truck (didn't work for me). I'm talking about the "feature" that won't let you lock your doors if the key is in the ignition. But I'd like to be able to turn that off if I choose. Anyone know how?
And today I got out, had the windows partially down, and tried to lock the doors with the keyfob, and it wouldn't lock them. Are there any other "special features" about the power locks that everyone should know about?
Do you have the keypad? Do you have a remote starter?
I'm not sure about when the keys are in the ignition, but you can lock all the doors from the outside by pressing the 7-8 and 9-0 keys simulaneously. Maybe that'll help.
Also, with a remote starter, you can press and hold the buttom, you'll hear a horn beep, then you can take the keys out of the ignition and the truck will stay running, and you can lock it after you get out. Nice feature on those hot days when you need to run into the store for <5 min.
I do that sometimes when i run in the store by my house, leave the truck running and lock the doors using my door key pad, that keeps the doors from unlocking when the keys are in the ignition.
you dont have to use 1-2 & 3-4 to unlock the other doors, after you put in your unlock code, just press the 3-4 button, dont have to hold it. and it unlocks the other 3 doors.
