Turn off auto door UNlock feature?
Forgive me if this is redundant, but I don't know what to call this "feature" so I wasn't able to figure out what to search for... I already turned off the autolock feature, but that doesn't disable the feature that automatically unlocks the door when you press the lock button on the door panel to prevent you from locking your keys in the vehicle. Is there a way to do this? Any help would be appreciated. THANKS!

If you read in the manual it will tell you to call 1800-FORD-Key to ask how to enable/disable these advanced features. But I called them and they were really bad, very poor customer service. So I called the dealership where I bought the truck and spoke to someone in service and they gave me step by step instructions for what I wanted. Which was to enable the auto unlock feature when you turn off the ignition. So I am sure you could do the same thing.

As far as I've been able to determine (and I am one of "those" guys that read the entire manual) Ford doesn't offer a way to do what you want. As you know, you can disable the auto lock when moving 5 MPH or greater feature but I've not seen anything that would override or turn off the "lock when you puch the button if the key is in the ignition" feature. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
GroundhogCK - I installed a toggle swith in the dash so I could turn off my interior lights when desired (GM uses this approach). Works great and pretty easy to do but after 3 years I don't remember what wire I tapped, perhaps someone else on the forum can provide that answer.
