Do I Need The Cat?
found a nice 4 inch MBRP exhaust but it removes the cat, if i do this will i have codes going off or will the CPU even be able to tell

must have been a CA truck, the other 49 states shouldn't have had cats on them that year.

i have no idea, all i know is it has one and i was going to put the MBRP exhaust on myself but i didnt know if i needed the cat

Not for the purpose of running, you will notice a difference in the smell of your exhaust though. Will smell more like an old tractor with the cat removed.

They had them on most ford diesels 95-97. the trick is wether or not there are emissions tests where you live and wether or not they mandate it. For example here I have to have one to pass, but its purely a visual test meaning if they see it, its there, thers simply nothing in it.

ok in texas there is no emissions (thats where im moving) and here they do an opacity test
